Yoga teacher training and Immersion

Yogasara Academy is bringing two new courses in 2013.

The Immersion Course and the Advanced Teacher Training.

  • The Immersion Course

This course is for those of you wanting to dive deep into the practice of yoga. This course will take you deep into the practices of Yoga, more deeply than you could ever go on any standard course.

The UK part of the course will run at Yogasara Studio in Bristol. The retreats will be in Bulgaria or Portugal. There will be a maximum of 20 students with our two main tutors. The focus on this course is quality time for cultivating personal practice of kriyas, asana, pranayama, mantra, inquiry, meditation and yogic dance. All the practices will be held within the framework of the exploration of applied Yogic philosophy.

This course will include:

  • Mouna
  • Study of classical texts and traditions including, the Yoga Sutras, Hatha Yoga Pradipika, Gheranda Samhita, Bhagavad Gita, Upanishads, Spandakarika, Vijnana Bhairava Tantra, as well as inquiry into Buddhist yoga and other relevant texts and traditions

The Yogasara Academy Team.

  • Yogasara Academy Advanced Teacher Training Course

For those of you who have gone deep into practice (such as the Immersion Course) and wish to develop your teaching skills. This course will also deeply serve those who have already done a teaching course where the course was too short, inadequate or did not allow you to develop in the way you needed.

This course is designed to bring the teacher in you out, the real teacher that naturally flows from quality practice. To this end an advanced teaching certificate is available for those who complete the course and who fulfill the required criteria.

Deep exploration of yogic technique and philosophy as well as plenty of practice space to cultivate your teaching skills is guaranteed.

This course will run over eight retreats. Seven of these will be for one week. The eighth retreat will be for three weeks. Homework will be given and is expected to be completed between each meeting. The total duration of the course is just under two years.

One of the best advanced teacher trainings available, this course has more than 700 contact hours and a total requirement of an additional 2200 hours of personal study and practice. When you consider the average UK Yoga teacher has only ever done around 200-500 hours of training you can see how deep you will journey on this course.

This course starting early in 2013 is accredited by the Independent Yoga Network.
